Hello all - I may be looking for a replacement turbo for my 1999 2.5 tdi. It is a 150 bhp car. The 180 bhp cars also used the Garrett GT2052V, but the turbo part number was different. Does anyone know whether a turbo from a 180 bhp engine can be used on a 150 bhp engine without ill effect? I want to know in case I can find one and not the other. ie. a used one in good working order.

- oh, and this isn't a garage telling me I need a new one - I know the vane control on my current one is as stiff and rough as a stiff and rough thing, and I am finding out what it would cost me not to strip and rebuild it myself.

cheers,

James.

Peter - thanks for that. I think I have now sorted out my problem by finding a place that can service the turbo for me, and for much less than the cost of a new or recon one.

regards,

James.

Hi, i have a low milleage used one, under 7 000 miles, that i have swapped from my car due to a miss diagnostic of a ''diesel specialist" and proved to be a blocked engine breather. I am asking for 200 pounds + P & P. The turbocharger has no play in the shaft and bearings. Any more details, call me on 07841206564. Regards, Chris.

Chris - thanks very much for the offer. I have actually within the last hour dropped the unit off at a turbo specialist who are going to service it.

kind regards,

James.

I have a 150BHP V6 TDi and had a G suffix turbo, I replaced it with a 180bhp F suffix. It looked the same in every way, except one was made in Italy, the other in France. It worked fine on the car, couldn't tell if it was different performance-wise as I think the actuator on the old one was faulty since I bought the car.

The one for the 180 Bhp (F suffix) flows more air than the other one from the 150 Bhp... thats why you felt like its been defective ! However, the fuel economy decrease sharply with the more powerfull one, low 30 Mpg as oposed to high 40 with the one from 150 ! I have both of them so i know that !

Hello

Chris do you still have the turbo for sale? would you sell the actuator seperate as i have a 150bhp v6 which has a stuffed actuator.

Thanks
