What mark is the Golf ?

If you intend to convery a MK4 1.6 to say a 1.8T just buy a 1.8T, reason being as well as suffering all the pain and expense of doing the conversion, you'll find insurance will also be an issue.

Taking the sensible hat off now....

I'd dearly love to drop a PD130 / 150 into a MK2 Golf, get it mapped and sorted as Devontopia has upto 200+ bhp. I'd rather and be happier in one that than anything else I can think of, even supercars !!

Failing that the next best for me would be an Audi TT 1.8T (BAM) conversion, which is a 220+ bhp starting point, IHI turbo it, FMIC and map accordingly and you'll have 300+ and just about the fastest Golf there is if you drop it into a MK1 or MK2.

As for doing a conversion with any modern vag engine, you'll need the full engine loom, ecu and clocks (which contain the imobilser).

Go for it ! and post lots of updates !

Right A Asked Around About The Engine Conversion Was Gettin Mental Quotes So Thats Out Of The Window lol, Also Got Told That A Turbo Or SuperCharger Conversion Would Be Better As The Leon Engine Sounds The Part But Really It Would Be A Hit Or Miss On The Golf And Got Told It Would Really Be A Miss And It Would Cost Nearly 6 Grand All In. And All Tho It Would Be Pullin 225 Brake Really It Would Be Pushin 210 Cause The Golfs Are Heavyer. But A Thought A Think A Superchagered Golf Sounds Better Than Sayin Ye Have A Golf With A Leon Engine In It. Looking Into The Superchager Thing Just Now Know A Guy That Does Them Near My Bit So Will Ask Him For A Quote, Also Would Work Out Alot Cheaper And Easyer 2 Insure (a Hope lol)

Any One Know Of Any SuperCharged Vee Dubs Or That ?

Also What Kinda Power Do You Get Roughly From A SuperCharger Any Ideas ?

ouch, your font and language hurts my eyes.... could you try and type in proper english for the benefit of us all please mate, and try to keep off the blue ;) its soooo hard to read what you're typing :(

as for the 'golf with a leon engine' thing.... they're all VAG.... theres no such thing as a 'golf engine' 'leon engine' etc etc, they're all effectively the same engine, eg the leon cupra 150 tdi is the same lump used in the golf gt tdi 150....

in regards to supercharger gains, it depends on what supercharger and engine you choose surely? it would also depend on the mapping of the engine when you do that and any extras such as exhaust and air systems.....

IMHO, as bigcol says, i'd just go out and buy one, rather than transplanting between mk4s, theres no point really :Blush2:

The only vag engines worth supercharging are the normally apirated ones. However you'll get far more power, probably out of the box with a 1.8t, unless of course you charge an R32 lump.
