I have been trying to Import tracks from either home made CDs, bought CDs or from my Ipod into the Jukebox on my 2009 AudiA4.

I click on "Import" and it says "select source" with the only option being from Audio CD, which is already selected. I can't work out what to do next, as it doesn't import the tracks.

The Jukebox has music in it from the first owner, would quite like to delete it tbh. I wondered if it had anything to do with copyright, but my bought cds and self made ones the same.

Any help much appreciated :Blush2:

Do you have vcds if so you can enable 5f to import for original discs and copy discs as you change the region coding which protects the copyright and thus stops you importing the music

I will post it tomorrow as my notes are on my other laptop

Thanks. I don't have the vehicle cds unfortunately. It puzzles me that there is already music on the jukebox from the prior owner, so presumably there must have been some way of getting it on there.

How to enable music copying for genuine dvd music

connect vcds

Go to address 5f go to adaptation channel 6 set to 1 and save

this how I enabled the hidden menu

Reset mmi

now enter the hidden menu

Press and hold car and menu till green screen comes up for A7

A8, Tone and Car for D4

A5,A6 & A4 Q5 Q7 PRESS CAR & SET UP

when the green menu comes on

scroll down find

diagnosis, settings, multimedia import of copy / no ripping to copy / ripping set.

Set to 4/4

Reset mmi and now you can rip the music to juke box

mmi reset buttons see here http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?129000-MMI-update-and-reset-key-sequence&p=695873#post695873

Not sure if your model has the sd card slot, if it does just copy your music onto the card then, when you pop it into the car you'll get an additional option to import from the sd card. No vcds needed, easy!

Jukebox
The Jukebox is available for the storage of music
files. Up to 3000 tracks can be stored in the Jukebox.
The actual number of tracks is dependent on the
compression of the audio files.
Import function
Music files in MP3, WMA and AAC formats can
be read in from the following interfaces and
imported into the Jukebox:
– DVD drive in J794
– Memory card reader in J794
– Medium at USB port of Audi music interface
(USB stick, hard drive, etc.)
Music files on audio CDs cannot be imported. O yes they can by setting the value to 4/4
Playlists (files with endings M3U and PLS) and DRM
protected files are non-readable.

Import Media Source
Import new track
Please select a source:
SD card
SD card
DVD
Control

Display of imported tracks in the operating menu
of the MMI
Only files can be imported, not folders. Music files
are organised by artist, album, track and genre for
easy selectability.
The artist, album, track and genre are read out
of the meta information*, included with the track
(e.g. ID3 tag*).
If the source file does not contain any meta
information, then the files are stored under
Unknown artist, Unknown album, etc.
Exporting and deleting music files
Files cannot be exported from the Jukebox.
Files can be deleted individually, by folder
or entirely.
If the Jukebox is reset to the factory default
configuration, all tracks will be deleted from the Jukebox

So setting the region to 4/4 allows direct ripping from original cd

Hi, thanks for that.

The first bit totally lost me I'm afraid:

connect vcds
Go to address 5f go to adaptation channel 6 set to 1 and save
this how I enabled the hidden menu
Reset mmi
now enter the hidden menu

I tried when "media" selected clicking CAR and SETUP as suggested (for and A4 Audi)

It comes up with something like "No further settings available for the car menu"
