Posting on behalf of a friend. He has just bought car which has developed the following symptoms.
Car drives ok when cold. After about 40 mins of driving there is suddenly no throttle response. Engine idles but there is no power and pressing throttle has no effect. Turn engine off and leave a while and car runs as normal.
He has had diagnostics run which have shown nothing. Has had plugs, fuel filter and crank sensor replaced to no avail, and has also had the Cat replaced. The rest of the exhaust is fairly new. His garage have almost run out of ideas and his repair bill is going to be more than the car's value if he continues!
Is there anything common with this model that gives these symptoms?
