Hi
I am brand new to this site (just registered) so please bear with me if make a few mistakes !
I have a 5 door, Mk3 Golf and the front passenger door regulator and motor has been removed (apparently faulty) and I was told the window is now propped with wood.
From looking at the regulator I cant see anything wrong with it being a mechanical item I dont understand what can be faulty with it.
The motor, I have to test so I appreciate that this may well be burnt out
However, the motor is not currently attached to the regulator and for the life of me I cant fathom it out.
This link is to a picture of my motor:

and I can appreciate that the motor screws to the backing plate (still on the regulator) but I cant see how to attach the two cables to the motor so that it engages that white nylon cog in the motor.
Each of the cable ends are crimped and I was expecting to see a reel or a bobbin type effect in the motor to which the cable connected. So...unless I am missing a piece can somebody explain it or better still show me a picture ?
Thanks for ANY advice
Rgds
