2008 Polo electric window issues

Hi all,
My dads having issues with his 2008 polo match 5dr,
the passenger electric window switch is not working at all,
there is no click or motor noise at all, he can sometimes control the
passenger window from the drivers side switch but not often.

And apparently the passenger window will sometimes wind itself down :confused:

Just looking for advice of any common issues, would any of this
show up with Vagcom?, thinking probably not?
