ECON Question!

hi ive had my audi about a year now.
on the climate control there is an econ button.

permanently the light is on?? is it supposed to be ?? What is econ for ??

if i tried pressing it off it just stays on ???

any help appreciated.

Econ=no air con.
You could have low pressure in the system or a failed pressure switch.
Try having the sir con regassed and leak tested first.

It turns the AC off, if its on all the time most common problem is the pressure sensor underneath/behind the passenger headlight, its about 40 quid and get a new o-ring while your at it, but get the codes read first as it may just be low on gas, the AC system will just not turn on if there isnt enough gas as it causes damage to the pump etc.

ok thanks guys so if i was just to leave it i wouldent be using anymore fuel would i ?? seen as though the air con is on but not on if u know what i meen :)

No, your compressor clutch wont engage whilst the econ light is on

All these cons can be confusing lol

thanks il just leave it for now then wont be needing air con till summer if we get 1 !!
