hi every one..

I have had my Audi for a few months it is the A4 2.5Tdi 1998 with 132k on the clock wiht full service history. i got it very cheap and its use is to run my and the lads up and down from Fife to Plymouth every weekend about 1200miles been doing ok.. but has started this.....

1st started with smoke coming out of the exhasut think it is white but hard to tell.. but can see it in the car lights behind me before they back of a mile with the smell haha http://www.clanjapan.co.uk/forum_cj/images/smilies/oops.gif also the boot has an oily residue on it..
seem to be fuel leaking from around the injectors so cleaned it up and toke it for a mile blast around the base and stopped had a look and fuel is dripping from all 6 injectors and buringin off causing smoke..
i opened the oil filler cap to see if there was pressure but dont seem to be any.. you can feel a slight bit of pressure and i thought that was normal with thesee silly piston cars... have had a wee google and coman thing seems to be crankcasr breather http://www.clanjapan.co.uk/forum_cj/images/smilies/angry.gif or EGR?
is there and one with good diesel engine knowlage to help me out wiht a wee bit of advise? only need it to last a few more trips if the issue is going to be terminal http://www.clanjapan.co.uk/forum_cj/images/smilies/sad.gif

i am handi with cars but tend to play with Rotary engines or petrol pistons so the diesel stuff is all new to me..
hope some one can point me in the right direction
thanks in advance
regards
sean

Hi sean, now as im reading it, it sounds to me like you have 2 faults, first is the diesel leak, you dont say from where, ie is it the leak off pipes or the injector metal pipes? if its the rubber leak off pipes then these can be replaced easy enough
now the second fault could be a few things, like the turbo seals or a faulty coolant temp sensor making it over fuel, so without looking in to it a little more it would be guess work at best, have you have a fault code read done and if so what codes did it bring up?
now for what could be good news, there is a small chance that the smoke you see when you floor it and the diesel leak are one in the same fault, to find out if it is the diesel leak needs sorting and going from there

I see you travel down to plymouth, i live just outside and can plug in to code read/fix the diesel leak for beer tokens if thats of any help mate?

thanks for the reply there mate
I had a look when it was dark wit a tourch so until 2m i cant really get in there and have a good look, its defo fuel and coming some where around the injector but dont know if its seal or pipe yet, but its strange that all 6 injectors are leaking in the same place, was thinking maybe some thing is causing the return lines to leak?
thanks for the offer with the vag start but even if it could tell me whats wrong i am stuck down here with no tools handi.
but saying that if could kinda work out the problem i can stick it into the car club on the basse for a cheap fix. the car only cost £500 so dont want to throw mega amounts of money at it lol.. it only needs to last a few more trips then its getting used to tow the track car 8miles to and from the track.

only a bargain as long as its working haha
so jsut had a wee look around the fuel return pipes are covered in fuel and pull off the nipples far to easy, and there was the end of a pipe not even fitted to what looks like a vac line to the fuel pump thing... i think.

so have ordered a new set of lines and can take it from there
