Does anyone know of any firmware updates for the RCD-510 that will stop my iPod missing the first second or so of tracks on playback? I've had my car since 2009 but this is beginning to get on my nerves now!

Any help would be appreciated.

Tony

Do you have the media in (MDI) or just the aux in?

There is an upgrade that you can download from the Volkswagen.de website that upgrades the former and it works well on my RNS 510 (Nav).

Link as follows:

That was just what I was after and it looks like it has cured the problem, thank you very much :D

No problem - just done the 2011 update myself.

Hi guys,

Do you know if this update works for the RNS315 headunit? Also I have a problem where if you leave the iphone connected when you have turned the engine off, when you turn it back on as soon as the bluetooth reconnects it locks the iphone up on the MDI and needs unplugging before it works again!

Answered question myself by downloading and trying it and it worked on the RNS315 head unit.

Hasn't fixed the sound locking out on the ipod though when the bluetooth connects!

Two days on and although the update has helped it hasn't cured the problem, I still get the occasional stutter at the beginning of tracks :(

One last post on this subject(!), I think the problem that still exists is down to the way iTunes has recorded the tracks rather than a problem with the RCD-510 so I'm quite happy to leave this as job done :D
