Cooling Fan running on after switching off .

First occurance was a few weeks after I bought my CC . Parked in my garage and the cooling fan stayed on ,after about 5 minutes I restarted the engine and then switched off and the fan stopped.This happened the next day as well. Last week and 9 months on, it happened again and I again switched the engine back on, and off , and the fan stopped.
Hasn't happened since. Anybody had a simillar problem or any ideas why ?

Sounds like the DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter). Does the same on my CC - got me worried when it first happened on mine. Picked up a leaflet about it at my local VW dealer while getting a new windscreen fitted (failed heated screen).
