The recirculation valve in the exhaust of my Polo died back in November, and was repaired by my local garage. This was the last of it, or so I assumed. On New Year's Eve I was driving up to my friend's in Oxfordshire and it went again. The poor car sounds like a tractor. I was wondering how likely it is that they've either messed up installation (they're not a VAG specialist) or the part was dodgy. I've been rowing in France so I haven't been able to do anything about it before.
Do they even die very often? It seems to me as if they're pretty simple things that are well understood enough that they shouldn't fail, certainly not two in a couple of months!
