Hi All

I think I have a issue with the thermostat on my A4

It is taking ages to warm up (when warm it never goes above 90 on the temp gauge)

But it takes approx 10 to 15 miles before it starts blowing warm (ish) air

In the summer this is no issue but I could do with warm air at this time of year

I am (was) going to change the thermostat (it be be there is not one fitted)
But I am not sure were it is

Cheers for your help

It's behind the cambelt mate...not easy to change !

as stated it is behind the cam belt changed mine on an a6 2.8 quattro same engine as yours . you have to put the car in service mode ie bumper off but there is no need to remove the timing belt if you gently slide the timing belt forward on the camshaft pulleys about 5mm there is room to remove the thin aluminium plate that covers the thermostat . one thing i would advise is get yourself a genuine thermostat from audi because you dont want to do this job twice . dont risk fitting cheap inferior parts

Trust Audi to put it in a nice easy place to change it!!:aargh4::aargh4:

May be another week or two before it gets changed think I will go and have some more :beerchug::beerchug: and think about changing it in the future

Will give Audi a ring on Monday and check out the price
