Are there any garages out there that specialise in carrying out modifications and changes to a new Audi?

The ones I have looked at so far are real back street jobs best at adding bling to an old car, not good enough for my car I'm afraid.

I need a garage with VCDS and everything that goes with at coupled with a 'can do' attitude and willingness to follow other peoples lead if that is prudent.

A few things I would like to add include:

1. Illumination to the door bins
2. Ambient lighting
3. Lighting to my current 'drive select button'

plus anything else that my be different and interesting.

Anyone know of anyone that fits the bill?

Have you had a look at our Sponsors to see if anyone is local?

I had a quick look and Crasher is near-ish to you in Nottingham. May be worth PM'ing him and others to see :)

Also, if enough research is done and information is found, you could possibly retrofit the things yourself? I fitted Bluetooth to my A3 and in the New Year going to fit Cruise Control and RNSE and I went in with no knowledge but researched online and it was installed perfectly.

Good luck and just try talking a bit more normal and find a suitable installer I for one wouldn't touch you with a barge pole talking like that lol

Are items 1 and 2 not already part of the light pack in your sig?- Audi really know how to stretch the options list out now if not :)

Ambient lighting is not standard with the light pack ... but can be turned on with VCDS.

I can't say I've noticed any door bin illumination.

And yes, Audi do know how to stetch it. If you dont spec the optional likght pack then you don't even get a glove box light!

Thanks for the input guys.

My days of crawling over a car with a screwdriver came to an end some time ago, so DIY is out.

A8 nice, can tell you work for Audi!

Door bin illumination is a diy thing, seen it on a used car (B8) and thought it looked rather nice and tasteful. The light pack is ok, but I do wish the door openings were better illuminated at the start, as I do not want my dash lights on full and even then the door handles are still dim.

Happy New Year to you all (and A8)

The funny thing is the light pack is one of the cheapest optional extras you can spec on a new car. I think its about £180? which relatively speaking...is peanuts for them. Rediculous that they don't just throw it in as standard! (Should take a leaf from Lexus's book where they throw pretty much everything in...)

I prefer the Audi way vs the Lexus (or Audi America) way.

I get to choose what I want and to remove what I don't want.

I worked in a main dealer years ago, while on the face of it people take comfort in a swanky garage with a nice clean premises the work is only as good as the hands (and mind) doing it. You could get an awesome technician working in a back street garage or a complete muppet working in a main dealer state of the art workshop. Appearances can be deceiving and things are not always what they seem. But this is what forums are for... get a referral from a fellow member...
