Where the hell is it?

Hi all,

I am trying to change my coolant but can't for the life of me find the coolant drain, I have removed the grille/fog light cover from the passenger side, lifted the rubber flap but there's nothing that looks remotely like a drain screw?

I have a 1.9 diesel passat 2001 on a 51 plate avb engine.

Can I use Prestone antifreeze or do I need the G12?

Thank you, hopefully I can find the red drain plug now to get the old coolant out, anyone knows how this is done on a 2001 UK model please?

You'll get more help if you tell us the engine code, and you could just remove the bottom hose to drain

Engine code AVB, tried to find the bottom hose but wasn't sure which one, there was a few down there.
