Hi All,

I wonder could anyone help me, my wife has a 2007 A4 and this morning I went to Halfords and had the wiper blades replaced due to a persistant area of the windscreen which was not being cleaned by the wipers. After driving for about 20 mins I found no improvement. It seems that the wiper blade is not flush with the screen and is raised slightly in the middle. Any ideas on how to rectify the problem would be appreciated. It is quite dangerous really as the uncleaned part of the screen is directly in the line of vision.

Thanks in advance:1zhelp:

You may have some grease on the screen making it skate over areas.

Strange that replacement Aeros are giving same problem? Definitely frameless rubbers?

Lube the wiperarm hinges,if they are tight it wont allow the blade to press against the screen, also the spring gets weak with age.

Good shout but they only have one central hinge and it would have been part of the new blade so unlikely

Did you renew the whole arm?I'm on about the hinge where you lever them off the screen.

bend the arm slightly to put a bit more pressure on the blade
