Do a continuity test on the bulb,dont trust a visual.

Check the cluster for corrosion, loose connections etc. My A6 had a fault where the connections on the bulb holder were corroded and the connection was lost between the bulb and the connection thus throwing the bulb warning on the dash.

if the 'bulb blown' sensor system is anywhere near as sensitive as my 320d, it can sense that a bulb is 'about' to fail.

several times now the dash has warned me, but all lights are working - within two weeks a bulb has actually failed!!

change the bulb and see if warning goes away - or wait until one fails!!

change the bulb and while your in there clean all connections.
