Facelifted CC

Just announced today - my new car for 2012 (to replace my 2009 170TDI Estate).

Almost looks like a good facelift from VW at last?

Why would you want a Passat CC that looks loke a Passat ????

I don't think it does - the side profile is exactly the same as the current CC, the back light clusters look better than the current CC in my opinion, and the front you might say looks a bit like the new standard Passat, but not to the extent it looks like a copy... In fact I was expecting VW to ruin the CC with the facelift but I think they've done a good job.

I see that is also likely to be just called the "CC" with "Passat" dropped from the name.

Latest news is that we won't see it until April - just in time for me to order it with a 6 month delivery time (for late 2012)!!!

Not convinced on the front end at all. I think that the all black dash and centre console works well with the cornsilk interior.

Totally agree. Looks to me like a clear nod towards the North American market where the Passat CC has apparently been a considerable success.

Are you sure it's black, not a dark chocolate (Or Black Oak Brown as VW call it)?

The Grille is a real let down... reminds me of a Gilette Mach5
I'd prefer something less busy to emphasise the width:

I think if you look at the European version on the Volkswagen.de website the front end is not nearly so offensive.

The US market does seem to demand more bling.

Just seen the price list has been published so decided to do a comparrison to the previous April 2011 price list.

For the same car I have the list would be £2310 more. I stripped out the DAB (used previous option price) and the XDS (current option price).

The only gains would seem to be a 2 tone horn, stainless stills and a seat massage function, I loose the rear curtain air bags.

But Xenon's are now standard.

I need my leasing company to start quoting before I obtain quotes.
