i have just bought a audi a4 avant 1.9tdi x reg

and have heard that you can get some diagnostics for your laptop

hope this is the right place to be asking this

sorry if not may be a mod can move it if not

any help or advice would be helpful

VCDS (paid), VCDS Lite (paid but cheaper and just about usable) and VCDS Lite freeware (virtually useless)

Get the paid version. You actually pay for the lead. Best off getting a Hex & Can lead. That will work on most vag group cars. Well worth the cash if you think it's £60 - £70 a pop at the dealers for diagnostics.

It is my opinion from the point of view of a full VAG group coverage and to be absolutely honest I have not used the freeware version and looking at the time it was I imagine I was close to being on the outside of a bottle of red at which point my opinions can be a little, well, controversial at best!
