I just tried the "LCD driver information display fix". I build race engines and have an "A" at electronics A level (when an "A" meant something"... but that job is a nightmare. If you have some nanobots give it a go...

Anyhoo - feeling sick I have spent money and made the display worse (I knew it wouldnt work) I put the binacle back in and tried to start the car to check instuments.

It runs for about a secong then cuts. The imobiliser light is flashing... I need bread in the morning and picking OH from airport Friday...

Take the battery clamps off and bridge the wires NOT the battery with a spanner then turn the lights on to clear static. After 30sec- 1min. re-connect then see if it starts... If it does not then check the connectors behind the dash...

Aaah the age old, broke while trying to make better lol i have done this all too much! Check fuses too! Might be the imobiliser, mine does this every now and again, normally when people are around and makes you look a ****! I find the best way is to put key in, turn igintion on do not start wait for imobiliser to go off. If it doesnt pull key out turn over try again. Also the rubber thing round the ignition barrel, remove it, it gets better signal from the key.
