Window 1/2 way down only

:confused: Hi: the drivers electric window on my beetle cabrio will only go halfway down all of a sudden. Any ideas anyone? Thanks Gianni

It could be something to do with it not sitting correctly in the runners within the door.

No unfortunately not but thanks for the advice. Seems to be stopping electronically as if reaching the end of travel. Service due shortly so will be up to the ******** to fix! Thanks

Recently had to give a mate a start using jump leads, window thereafter starting working properly again!! Bizzare!!

Hi there, did you get your window sorted? My passenger side back window on 1600 2003 New Beetle Cab doing same. Stops half way down - thought maybe sensor faulty as motor stops? Any ideas....dread taking it to garage as I imagine they'll charge the earth!:1zhelp:

Hi Kitty: the window just seemed to sort itself out. I haven't had a repeat of the problem. It may be a window sensor?

Further update some time later - rear passenger window also only going half way down for 1 week, then myseriously sorted itself out. Also have flashing glow plug light and engine check light on and intermittant limp home mode when cruising. Did have turbo pipe replaced but problem still there. Before going back to garage - any ideas
