am new here so wasnt sure were to post yeah
have spoke to a friend who did say it might be a can bus problem
maybe the bluetooth network not switching off when switching off the ignition
the stereo i had in the vw eos was a rcd 300 but had a faulty cd player (http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?&_nkw=cd+player) and you know what women are like she just wanted it sorted
and now its becoming a headache
the rns 315 stereo that ive put in it came out of a seat alhambra
vw said it might be that theres 2 wires round the wrong way as seat wire difrent from vw

If you do a search of the Passat and Golf forums you'll probably find the info you need. Most of the queries are about fitting the RNS510 or RCD510 to pre-2008 vehicles.

They are affected by battery drain and need a different CANbus gateway. I was tempted to fit an RCD510 (fantastic piece of kit) to my 2007 Golf, but couldn't be bothered with the hassle. I'm surmising that the issues with your radio are similar.

I'm not convinced about the "different wires" theory, but even if it's correct, I'm guessing you're not minded to start monkeying about with the quadlock connector to the radio?

The other obvious point is, are you sure your battery is up to snuff? My wife's Eos needed a new 'un at 3.5 years and 10k miles.
