I have ordered the following Kenwood stereo:

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_81 9601_langId_-1_categoryId_165474

And would like to fit it into my March 2009 Mk6 1.6 S petrol.

Any ideas what fascia adapter, harness adapter and aerial adapter I need?

Would any of the following components work on the Mk6?

Thanks
Andy

I take it you have the RCD210 if so then this kit seems to be the one you want it has all the bits

Not sure about how the can bus coding

You seem to be laying a lot of dosh out what will you gain for your £223 !

I'm getting it as I want an SD card slot instead of having to spend 30 mins erasing and burning a cdrw only to find it skips on the vw player!

It seems you are right the cost of converting the RCD210 to work with I phone or Aux is about £200 so changing the unit is the best way as you could pick one up with Blue toot as well
If yoy search there is a lot on the subject But found this:

Get a proper CANBUS adapter - it'll save you having to manually find a switched live.

You'll also need a fascia adapter and a twin FAKRA (aerial) adapter too.

Would it not be easier just to buy an RCD 510 of eBay? Would cost about the same and give you an SD slot but no adaptors required and fits straight in place.

Where would I get a CANBUs adaptor from and how much do they cost?

I would also like the volume to increase with speed (like the GALA function on the RCD-310) and the unit to light up when the lights are come on. Are these functions head unit specific, as I can't see anything in the Kenwood manual about them.

Thanks
