the swivelly bit on the engine end of my side-to-side gear selector cable has snapped off. I can currently only get 3rd & 4th gears

picture at the bottom of page 34-14 here:

the break is just above where it is bolted on

does anyone know whether it is possible to replace just this part, or whether an entire new gear selector cable is required? & where I would buy the replacement part(s)?

any help much appreciated

Andy

Well it did an 8 ish meg download and then I could open it, I did not expect it to be so big so I thought it did not work. To change the cable (swap it out! Are you an American?) you have to remove the selector unit from the car which means disconnecting and lowering down the exhaust and removing the lower heat shield.

thanks Crasher. turns out I was able to get just the end piece from my local Skoda place, for about a tenner, which was nice

I'm not american, I just work with rather a lot of them :(
