I have recently bought an A4 2.8 quattro automatic 2000. It drove like a dream for the first three weeks then the car started to vibrate between 1500-2000 rpm and doesn't change gear smoothly during these revs but above 2000rpm the car runs fine and smooth. The vibration is also not noticeable when changing gear manually.
Someone said tyres so I replaced them that didn't work.
Another said the engine was misfiring so we took out the plugs, the two front plugs had lots of oil on right up into the HT lead the next two have only a slight touch of oil on, and the rear two were dry.
Before I change plugs and leads can anyone say if this sounds like the cure to my problem or should I be delving deeper.
