New MK6 Jetta Xenons

Hi all,

We here in Australia will be seeing the new Jetta in showrooms very soon. I have been reading up on MK6 Jetta brochures from the UK, Germany & France & nowhere have I been able to find any mention of Xenon headlights being available.

Are Xenon headlights available for the new Jetta there in the UK...?

Nope, they're not. Even the range topping GLI in the US doesn't have them. Cost cutting at it's finest.

On a side not, I've had a look at the Mk6. Didn't like it. Felt cheap inside and I'm not blown over by the styling. If the GLI model ever came to the UK - which it won't - I'd give that some consideration. It's a decent looking car with the extra styling.

Just noticed this thread and thought just out of curiosity that I would look on the VWUK configurator.

VW are offering an option which is frankly out of this world .. Dipped Headlights

It is very odd that it seems Jetta MK6 doesn't have a Xenon option in the UK, EU, US & all going the same Australia & Asia. Xenon are available on the lesser Golf & Polo ranges but not the newer, larger Jetta..... Cost cutting gone mad indeed....

I don't think the Mk6 Golf had xenons as an option from release. I think they were available a couple of years later. You might find it's the same in this case as well.

It also probably depends on how popular they were on the Mk5. If there was hardly any uptake, it's doubtful they will produce a xenon unit as this time, the units are not the same as the Golf. When looking through adverts for second hand Mk5s, very few have xenons fitted.
