I have purchased a K&N air filter for my A3 TDi.

Had a very quick look under the bonnet tonight. Is it just a case of removing the screws around the edge of the airbox and taking the lid off to access the filter?

Is there anything else I need to undo or be aware of?

Thanks in advance.

As nobody replied to this thread, and I never found the answers myself, I have now done the job and will do a quick 'how to' for people that may stumble across this in the future wishing to change their air filter.

It really is very simple, open the bonnet, undo the 8 screws holding down the airbox lid (they are captive so unscrew them then pull them up), lift up the airbox lid and the filter is right there.

There is no need to release the MAF senor or undo any pipework or anything, just undo 8 screws!

I dont know if it had ever been replaced since new, the car has 34k miles on nd it wasnt too bad. But much happier with a K&N in, far superior filter and £36 delivered.
