My 2.8 quattro is losing atf from the pas reservoir quickly, at first i did not notice but now it is rapid. Is this a common problem with a4s or just mine? Where is it going? I think it is in the rack somnewhere as there are no visible signs of leakge yet? If as i suspect it is the rack leaking how hard is it to remove and is a normal rack compatible with a Quattro one? All help is apppreciated.

Thanks Mike.

probably seals gone and is filling gaitor? if theres no obvious leak

pig of a job, but its basically undoing and sliding/twisting out from wheel arch, id go for a recon rack over a used one as its not a job you'd want to do again

pretty sure 4/6 cyl use different racks but no difference between fwd/4wd

Holding steering on full lock should provide enough pressure to force the leak and allow you to see where it's coming from. If it's not visible on the hoses, as above it's more than likely the seals in the steering rack have gone. Feeling/manipulation of the steering gator may give you a clue.
