Remote central locking

Should my 1998 TDI Sport have a remote key.

If yes would i be able to get one off ebay and re-program it myself

Hi

I would say that your car should have the remote key, did you get 2 keys with the car or just one? if you only had one, I would say they have only given you the standard key.

If you purchase one from ebay, you need to get the correct one for the car, such as the correct frequency. This would then need to be programmed by a dealer.

My passat (1999) came without remote locking from the key, I spoke to VW head office help line and they were able to confirm that it did not come with it from the production line, and that the flick type key would not be compatible.

I have since had a Cobra remote locking system fitted for £130 to give me remote locking.

I Have just replaced my Battery and the air bag warning light will not go out. Does any one have an idea as to why?
