Hi,

Our Q7 has had this for a couple of years and Audi have never managed to diagnose a fault.

When the car is moving slowly and the steering wheel is being turned, we can intermittently hear what I described as like a low noise that almost sounds like a plastic/ nylon rubbing sound.

Anyone help please because the car is under warranty and if someone has an idea, I'll get the garage to investigate...

Hi, I have the same problem. Did you ever manage to find a solution?

No, asked the Audi garage to check it and they say they can't find a fault. The noise still prevails sometimes though.

Could it be the slip ring behind the steering wheel? Do a search on Slip Ring in the A6 C6 forum - one of the threads about it on there links to a video on YouTube where you can hear the noise. This will tell you if it's what you are hearing in your Q7

Cheers!

I asked Audi to look at this and they said that it caused by the steering oil and there is a tech note out on it. They said that the oil needs changing for a different type!?
