Bosch 8DO959655L Airbag ECU

A bit of a longshot this. Is there anyway to reset/recode this ECU? It refuses to communicate with either a hand hald scanner or Vag-Com. At the moment it's still in the car. If it could be reset or reprogrammed, could anyone tell me what company provides this service? It would be nice if it was a forum supporter

I'll get the ECU out of the car (it seems straightforward enough) I managed to access it enough to get the part number off it by removing the climate control module. So I'll remove it from the car and have it sent off for repair.
