Parking Brake Failure Error in DIS

Having driven about 165 miles and 2 miles away from home, I got the above error in my A4 B8 S-Line 2.0 TDi. The car drove fine, parking brake came on and went off ok as well but the error still persists. The car has now done about 58K miles.

Has anyone had this issue?

I had the same error which was caused by a loose speaker lead from an aftermarket iPhone cradle /FM transmitter (the sort that plugs into the lighter socket) fouling the parking brake switch. The connector at the end of the lead was either shorting or interfering with the switch in some way.

If there's been an error in the system then the computer should have logged a fault. Give it a scan with VAG-com or get your dealer to check it over.
