I have just had my Fabia 1.9 TDI serviced by Kwik Fit - they have used Mobile 1 ESP 5W-30 engine oil. Is this correct to use?

My vehicle:-
Fabia 1.9 TDI Reg 04.
Engine number ATD640979ATD
Is this Unit-Injector/PD engine?
If not what engine is it?

I find the Skoda engine details and correct use of lubricants very confusing.

Thank you.

That's fine for your car. Yours will be a PD engine, and as long as the oil conforms to either VW505.01 or VW507.00 it will be ok.

See here for details. http://www.mobil.co.uk/UK-English-LCW/carengineoils_products_mobil-1-esp-formula-5w30.aspx#

Hello Hex69 - thanks for the prompt reply.

The following statement from ExxonMobil is concerning me.

According to ExxonMobil, Mobil 1 ESP Formula 5W-30 is of the following quality level:
API CF
Volkswagen (Gasoline) 502.00 / 503.00 / 503.01
Volkswagen (Diesel) 505.00 / 505.01 / 506.00 / 506.01
All VW engines with the exception of Unit-Injector / Pump-Duse TDI without LongLife Service and without DPF between 1999-2003 and R5/V10-TDi before model year 2006

My engine is PD not sure about DPF, and was registered April 2004 therefore it could fit into the above description.

Any comments appreciated.
