Hi, new to this forum, just a quick question that hopefully someone can answer. Firstly, if i reset a fault code without fixing the actual fault, should it reappear when i scan for faults again? Secondly i failed my MOT last week on the emmisions test, i was advised that i probably needed a new lambda sensor. After a bit of digging in the engine bay i found two broken wires coming from the lambda harness, i've since rejoined these, not getting any fault codes relating to the sensor but when i run vcds and look at results for sensor data the reading varies from zero to minus 15% - what sort of reading would a working sensor produce?

Finally, how long should i run my car before performing a readiness test? pass/fail changes the longer the car runs.

ignore readiness code regen as it will re learn in time

are you looking at mvb 32, if so ideal long term and short term trim should be 4%

but resetting the fault memory deletes the read data

look at mvb 30, 31 upward for lambda voltage lambda 1 being ideal afr and make sure the voltage readings are in order for rich/lean mixture
