Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, help me please before I take a hammer and do something I'll regret!

I cannot get the starter motor out of its extremely confined space! It is loose and I can move it about a bit but it just won't slip out. Its restricted by the solenoid barrel and wires which I cant seem to get at to remove.

There are two pipes which I think are the in/out lines to the water pump that would easily allow the s/motor to drop out but I'm loath to remove these unless absolutely necessary. If I do it's going to mean bleeding the system and all that malarky and I haven't got the faintest idea of even how to do that?

Suggestions and advice please, pretty please with a cherry on top :1zhelp::boggled:

Ok mate, cheers. Let me know. I'm getting rid of the audi so not much point in buy a manual. Plus we have ace people like you to pass on the info for free ;)

I'm a firm believer that car owners should not be charged for manual's. Cars cost enough as it is and for that they should be free. A downloadable PDF file is simple.

I've put it back on for now and had the battery on charge all night. I'm going to fit it and give it a go with the old hammer tap trick just to be certain it is the starter that's nacked.

Failing that, it looks like I'll have to remove the two pipes to get it off.

Oh well, looks like that's ****** on my parade! Lol!

Thanks a million for the help Luigi, your are a credit to the community! :biggthump

I don't suppose it gives the part number for the starter? My garage will only fit new but if I get a scrap yard one they'll fit it. Trouble is I can't get the thing off to check the part number.

Thanks again mate:beerchug:

No part number unfortunately, should all be the same for your engine code though?
