Windscreen wiper fault

Hi
Got a 99 tdi Sharan....
The wiper's will only work on the fast setting....
New switch and complete linkage Fitted last year....
Tried a new motor and no different, so packed it neatly back in the box and returned it......
Sparky has got no idears....
Has anyone else got any idears... I'm desperate....

I had a similar problem with my old GTE. Like you, I changed the linkage, motor and relay. But I found out later it wasn't earthed properly. Worth a try.

This might sound daft but...... when they are on fast, are they actually going fast or somewhere between slow and fast? I had the same problem on mine and it was the linkage that had seized. You'll need to disconnect the wiper motor and see if you can move the wipers by hand. If they're stiff that is your answer, its cream crackered and a £180 bill for a new one. Oh and its very common as my dealer keeps them in stock. Its easy to change just slightly time consuming.
