Roofbars - will they fit with the sunroof?

I'm shopping around for a set of roofbars for my 2010 CC, but i'm pretty sure I've read somewhere that the Thule bar kit wont fit the CC if its fitted with the tilt glass sunroof? Is this right??? Does this also apply to the VW bars which, having looked tonight, are about £350!!!?

Any ideas??

clarify, do you mean


if you have the tilt glass sunroof, the bars physically can't be mounted to the car?
if i fit roof bars to my car, i won't be able to open the tilt glass sunroof?
If the 2nd option applies, I'm sure you can live without the roof open for the journey.

Sorry Ben - yes, i meant point 1 - Can they be physically fitted as, given the width of the glass, i'd assume the foot positions would overlap onto the sunroof itself, meaning the glass would be taking some of the weight of the bars/roofbox. i.e., it looks as though a bar foot would straddle the metal/glass.

Thought i'd read somewhere that if the sunroof was fitted, the roof bars were out of the question.
