Hi All,

As the title says really!

Just had the EGR and associated pipework cleaned and was apparently almost completely clogged...

The car is running so much better so was thinking of having the variable vane turbo cleaned (if fitted) along with the MAF at the next service, which is due in a couple of thousand miles.

Thanks,

Nick

It should have variable vanes. Most turbo diesels have had them since the early 90's as stated HERE (http://paultan.org/2006/08/16/how-does-variable-turbine-geometry-work/)

I haven't thought of this until now, good idea though, could you let me know how much it cost you after your service? It might be a good idea if i had mine done too!

Thanks guys, that's a great help.

Hibbsy - that's the article I found that got me thinking about this in the first place!

I'll let you know what was involved, and cost once I've had it done, should cover those miles in about 3-4 weeks at most...

Cheers,

Nick
