My 1.9 diesel '59 reg keeps making a 'boing' sound. When the car has been standing for a few hours, I double click the remote to open and the 'boing' sounds, and again when I open the door and again when I close the door when I'm inside. I've also heard it when car is stationery, intermittently. Nothing is obviousy showing on computer diagnostics. It doesn't happen when the car has had a good run. The skoda garage has not encountered this sound before. It's driving me mad.

i think the noise you are talking about is coming from the radio,i have had this when the battery is low, charge the battery on a slow charge i/e overnight and see if that cures your fault.but i have only come across this once..........let us know how you get on after you have charged it up.............................

Hi VAGMAN54. Car has been in garage 3 days and they have discovered the battery is being discharged. But they cannot find on their diagnostics what is causing this. Can you tell me how you knew that it was the radio that caused your problem?
Many thanks. Moggy2.

i never said it was the radio causing the fault its the radio were the noise is coming ,what amount of current is being discharged from the battery ?? and if the battery is not fully charged before they do a current drain test then you might well find that there figures could be wrong if you let the forum know what the amount of drain is then it will be easier to pin it down to a circuit.......................................i/e interior monitoring/alarm etc.....

The Skoda garage has done tests on the battery and find that something is causing a drain. They can't immediatly find a fault but suspect it could come from the tow bar electrics' relay. This was fitted by a specialist tow bar fitting garage. Before they will do any more checks I will have to eliminate the tow electrics by removing 1 of 2 fuses alternativly, to see if this is the cause. But no-one else seems to get these warning 'boings' :confused:This may help anyone else with simular problems. Will let you know the results.
