I have a set of new scirocco alloys 235/40/18 can i put 225/40/18 tyres on them as i am fitting them onto a Golf plus .. to save them from rubbing when on full lock .

The width of the wheel rim is the key issue here. A 225/40 x 18 tyre can be fitted on a wheel rim which is between 7.5 and 9 inches. This calculator on this site is quite a useful tool.

How do i corect the speedo , to the size of the wheels , from 15" to 18 " ,,, 9 mph is going to be the difference .:aargh4:

Did you use the calculator on the website to work out the difference between the 15 inch and 18 inch rims?
