A4 v S4

Hi all - new to the forum...Anyone who can help me decide on the A4 or S4 debate wd be very grateful for help...any good dealers in London too, just moved up here from Devon.

Well it depends on what you want from the car, how much you want to spend and your personal taste.
As the A4 starts the range in 2 wheel drive and 4 cylinder motors , be they petrol or diesel low level trim finish or right up to quattro and v6 petrol or diesel with manual box ,multitronic or tiptronic and paddle shift.
Which year models are you interested by, A4 b5 s4 2.7 v6 twin turbo petrol, A4 b6 s4 v8 4.2.
All S4 and RS4 are quattro, if performance is your thing and you have a full wallet why not go RS4 b7 v8, or if you just want something nice smart and reliable then maybe the A4 2.0 tdi.
There are loads of versions so its just a case of horses for coarses.

thanks. I am looking to buy new. Money isn't major factor but I don't want to spend thousands more if i will not really notice the difference apart from a bi more acceleration

Hi again davids, I would say that you might find it worthwhile taking a look at the A4 3.0 TDI V6 , heaps of torque and economy too.
All that aside, pop your question into the A4 B8 section as those guys run the latest models and therefore can offer factual advice.

okay thanks. i just checked it out, looks really good...will be heading to showrooms tomorrow and will set up some test drives for next weekend

Hi,

There are a lot of smart answers to that question but I'll give you a simple one:

S4 B8.

I drive one and it's simply brilliant. And go for the rear sports differential, it WILL make a difference - I'd really use one. The rest doesn't matter (although some big rims and red leather would make a difference :d)
