Has anyone any thoughts on whether it's best to get a 170 or 140 model? Don't want to go for the 140 if it's as slow as Katie Price in a pub quiz. Thinking of changing my B8 A4 for a CC but can't decide on which oil burner to buy.

Also, has anyone any experience of a remap? My A4 has been remapped and goes like stink, but not sure whether the CC can be remapped successfully.
Cheers.

I'd be interested on others opinions regarding the remap. There seem to be companies out there offing the service by I'm not sure how good they are.

As for which power version to go for, I'd say go and visit a dealership and try each one for yourself. Thats what I did and opted for the 170 version as I prefer that little bit more umph for not much more day to day cost.

What's the power of the A4 you have at the momnent?

Revo are a reliable re map brand.
Check their web site for power gains etc and search for nearest stockist/installer.

Gregmeister - got just under the 200bhp mark with my 1.8t after the remap. Pretty good powerflow, hence the option of remapping the oil burner when I eventually get around to the CC. I'll take your advice and try out both 140 and 170 before putting signing on the line, as it were. Good luck with your new one.

One thing I would say is, in light of all the delays with factory ordered cars, if you can find one that has already been built with a spec you are happy with ... get it, otherwise the lead time could be astronomical!

140 + remap should net you 180-185

Cheaper than the cost of going for the 170..... Unless you plan on remapping the 170 ;-)

All 2010+ ecu's have an anti modification chip on board. These can be removed during the remap process and then replaced afterwards.

Bought 170 but had to wait when it arrived so had a loan 140 staff car for 3 days (drove 400 mixed miles in it). Finally got 170 and noticed after 1 day 140 seemed nippier , had more urgency about it, definitely not my imagination, 170 seems to have leggier gearing more of a cruiser BUT the spec/deal I got would not make me swap.
So for the money these things are you really need to travel to a dealership that has both to test IMHO

Well I went straight for the 140, but did contemplate the 170. Didn't do test drive of 170 or 140 before I got it, but I moved from a Toyota Avensis T180 and to be honest the CC 140 is very similar. The gearing may not be as good as the Avensis but for the money I saved and economy the 140 is a really good option. Personal choice though. I'm very happy with the 140. PS - had a Jag 2.0 140 before the Avensis and that was nippy and on par with my CC.:D

Aldoaccie : Did you make you decision?

Has anyone had a remap of their oil burner?
