Last night, whilst trying to tuck the car up in the garage, reverse gear was selected instead of park... and 3 tonnes worth rapidly bolted backwards into metal units at the rear of the garage... my plastic bumper has not fared too well, but in the cold light of day, it could have been worse... more annoying is the fact that the bumper was re-painted under warranty last year and caused much inconvenience...

Am gutted... the car would be safer parked outside... every car we've had has ended up getting damaged whilst trying to keep them safe in the garage.

I was not too impressed with my local Audi repairer last time who took 3 goes to get the bumper right... what a waste of time that was!

I've attached a picture of the damage which is mainly to the bottom section of the bumper but if you follow the vertical damage line, you'll see a blemish on the crease of the top section where it suffered some impact too.

I think it might be suitable for a localised repair instead of a full bumper job... but it needs to be right.

Does anybody please know a good smart repairer or bodyshop in the N.W of England (Greater Manchester/ Lanc's)?

Thanks. :aargh4:

Are you unlucky or what? Would have thought a localised repair could do the trick without painting the whole bumper, but I'm no expert.

Do try and be a little more careful mrs pld (if it really was her) ;-)
