A6 central locking

Hi - first time so here goes.


97 A6 2.5 TDi Avant Quattro - central locking unlocks then immediately locks itself. No remote - all done with key. Any ideas?

Same from both doors ?

Check all the door locking pins operate smoothly, tension on the front door linkage could cause it to lock again?

Forgive my ignorance - what's the locking pin? Is it the black thing that sticks up out of the top of the door trim?

And where's the linkage?

Yes, the bit that sticks out of the top of the door.

There isnt much linkage to bend or catch on anything really.

Thanks for the help. It turned out to be a broken cable inside the driver's door. Garage have the car now and are fixing it. Amazingly the cable was only £8 - cheapest bit of an Audi I ever heard of. A new window motor cost me £250 a few years ago at an Audi garage, and it lasted about 13 months. No comeback.
