A2 1.6FSI Missfire...

Hi, I'm in need of some help with my Wife's A2 1.6FSI Sport. The car drives really well but whilst driving steady at 40-60mph without putting the engine under load it starts to missfire. No engine lights come on and you can accelerate and the missfire goes, it doesn't impair the performance in anyway. Slow back down and take the load off the engine and it will start missfiring again!!! Coil packs have all been changed, plugs all changed, EGR Valve replaced. Any suggestions would be most welcome, thanks Paul.

start with a scan for faults.

The car has been in this for a check this week, no faults recorded, I drove 145 miles without any problems and then it started hicupping/missfiring. Despite the hicupping/misfiring you can still accelerate or decelerate without any problems and then when you settle down to cruising again it wil start mis-behaving.

As said before a scan should help. However Coil packs misfiring on these engines (1.6fsi) are a common fault.
