View Full Version : Please Help Audi ESP light

Hello there, just joined your lovely forum and believe i am going to be here a very long time ;)

Not too sure where to post this but i have just bought a nice second audi quattro

ocasionally when im driving the esp light will come on until the engine is restarted, is this normal?

if its not its all good cos it has 3 months warrenty to get it sorted :beerchug:

i'm not going to begin to guess what kind of audi you have.
I'll wait for you to tell us its age and fuel type.

Sorry about that


its an audi s3 225 2002 petrol but has been modified

from what i can see it has a k&n air filter which the dealer failed to tell me about

And engine code if you can find it on the sticker in the service book / spare wheel well.

I would think it's a BAM.
Get a scan done for fault codes..

BAM= engine code.
Have the car scanned for faults !

No error code, esp light will come on when i really give it some so having the sensors checked out even though no code :/

Just out of interest, what did they scan, engine or abs? If light comes on and stays on till you cycle the ignition then it will store a code unless its a power supply problem. Just a thought!!

If the light comes on when you nail it,...shes spinning,..........thats normal isn't it

My abs / traction control light comes on when it's wheel spinning. That's perfectly normal as it's doing what it should do (trying to stop the wheelspin)

Im not sure which one it was to be honest

the light just comes on now n then but when it does, it stays on until i restart the engine :confused:
