cam sensor

Hi can anyone tell me if a faulty cam sensor will cause power lose in my 2.5tdi transporter replaced Maf unit the turbo is working but can not feel its power any help?

don't know if this answers your question but I'm having problems with my cam sensor or ecu, the garage can't seem to decide which is faulty, but i've disconnected the cam sensor and apart from difficult cold starting the van doesn't lack any power.
