97' A6 rough idle problem

i have a 97 a6 2.4 V6 which has a low idle speed also it cuts out at low speed/parking etc, i have tried disconnecting the MAF sensor this makes the problem worse,the fault code flags it as "throttle switch reset/idle switch reset"can't remember exactlly which.has anyone had a similar problem and any idea of how much it costs to rectify.

have you checked the butterfly in the throttle body and cleaned it out with carb cleaner this is normally the answer, i cleaned one out on a audi a4 and it sorted the problem, was the problem base setting fault if so that needs calibrating, any problems just PM me or add to thread cheers from mickyboy10001http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/../images/smilies/biglaugh.gif
