Hi, i have a 2002 tdi, ive only had it a few months,
Had the alternator pulley replaced which was noisey,
and a knocking noise on front suspension which the garaged said a free play on top shocker mount
this was replaced.
But i still get the knocking noise on front wheels, took it back and did a full check on links,arms and bushes,cv and all seems fine. He took it on test drive he can feel it but cant find the problem.

when you drive on a rough road you can hear the noise knocking and feels like the wheel is wobbly
specialy when deaccelating and coasting

please help if anyone knows of this problem,

worth checking the bushes on the front anti-roll bar maybe as this can give a knock.

I second the ARB bushes. They don't affect the handling much, but do make a noise.

It's a 30 minute job if you don't also replace the ARB, but it'll last longer if you do it properly, but that also means lowering the subframe to get the ARB out / in.
