Hi there,

Not a big issue for all you UK residents, but for us out-of-towners it would be quite nice to have a sticky somewhere showing what year each registration letter (or number for the 51, 52 etc) stands for.

For example, there is a thread that someone says "I have an X reg....."- I have no idea what that means!!

Down here, we don't link rego to year - it simply carries on continuously. We use three letters and three numbers, currently in the DUH123 range - haven't seen any nice VW's with DUB001 plates yet though!!! :Blush:

Thanks.

Wiki has an excellent article on this;

I'd like it known that whoever invented our new XX51 XXX / XX02 XXX system is an idiot.

I agree with the idiot bit too, why think up something that will be useless come 50 years?!?
