Dual Mass Flywheel (http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/post/index.htm?t=61626) - there is a response in that link that explains it better than I can.

The DSG boxes need an oil and filter change every 40k miles, the first thing I'd do is check to see when it was last done. It's quite expensive to have done as it's a fiddly job apparently but it's much cheaper than a new box.

thanks guys, gearbox oil is changed recently, but to be sure i will let check oil quantity and quality...today i noticed the whining only second gear and 20km/h...and thats it, hope that is oil issue...:(

There is a certain amount of noise in the first couple of gears, kinda like a milkfloat pulling away, the dmf usually rattles rather than whines, if you want to check it, stand it with the engine on idle and give it a 2k blip, if there's anything wrong it will rattle and make a sound like a pebble in a washing machine.

Car stationary, press pedal to 2000 rpm quickly and as quick let it drop back to idle and listen for the pebble in the washing machine noise.

tryed this last night I heard something but not much...but still...I dont know how much noise is normal and not normal, but something was there...
Today my dealer will try to find out is there something wrong or not, it is my first automatic gearbox and I know how noisy passats are.
maybe these sounds are normal...maybe its winter tires which makes some strange noise...uuuhhhh:confused:

went to dealer to check is everything ok with DSG, they didn`t find anything, hope they are right.Probably odd noise is coming from winter tires, or maybe wheel bearing...will check this out on spring..:)
